Epic Armory's Gim Sword is part of the Vanguard line and takes cues from the Chinese Jian and other Asian weapons, with a hilt designed for one- or two-handed use. The guard is smaller than most comparable European swords, allowing for greater freedom of movement when using the blade. The hilt is made of polyurethane and features a high degree of detail, as it is sculpted to resemble the scales of a dragon or serpent, with gold detailing. The hilt provides an excellent grip for the wielder. The blade is made of closed-cell polyurethane foam and colored to look as realistic as possible. Unlike most LARP weapons, the Vanguard line requires virtually no maintenance, beyond controlling wear and tear in the form of nicks or breaks.
