Gunnar was the newest member of the Varangian Guard. He was much taller than the nobles of the court, and with his long blond hair and bushy beard, he had an imposing figure. His armor had seen battle during the recent uprising, and the head he carried with him left a trail of blood in his wake. To the astonishment of the court nobles, Gunnar still smelled of soap and oils, as if he had just emerged from the spa. “My Emperor. I brought the head of the rebels as requested.” He threw the head at one of the nobles, who caught it and dropped it with a shrill scream. “And that man is guilty too.”
The Hirdsman Sword from Epic Armory is part of the Vanguard line and is inspired by the swords of the Hirdsmen – the armed companies of the kings of the Viking Age in Scandinavia with its small hilt and sculpted details. The hilt is made of polyurethane and features a high degree of detail, sculpted to resemble metal-reinforced wood. This ensures both comfort and excellent grip for the wielder. The blade is made of closed-cell polyurethane foam and colored to look as realistic as possible. Unlike most LARP weapons, the Vanguard line requires virtually no maintenance, beyond controlling wear and tear in the form of nicks or breaks.
